“This came out of our frustration with traditional nonprofit conferences and virtual summits, where you get a bunch of information thrown at you and then you leave. Monday morning, it’s back to putting out fires, and you’re not really applying it… How can we keep this spirit going throughout the year and just build on it?”Julia Campbell · Founder, Nonprofit Social Media Summit

One table led to another

Some people come to play. Some bring a friend. Some keep a table open for others. Here’s what happened when they did.

From a first test in Cohoes to tables across the country: meet the people involved and take the learning back to your community.

The Retention Table at Camp Finance

We ran The Retention Table, a role-playing lab for growth, trust and long-term support, with nonprofit leaders from across New York.

What people took away

Both tables that submitted plans agreed that donor relationships belong to the whole organization. Both chose automated communications, more ways for supporters to participate, and investment in administration before program expansion.
